As the name implies, Shifty is a bit sneaky, quick-witted, and deceitful. They used to be a detective for their city but were fired for slacking off. Deep down, Shifty does want to be the best detective out there, but they’d rather come off to others as competent than actually be competent. They prefer to improvise when put under pressure to maintain a façade.Generally seen as untrustworthy by others in the city, Shifty doesn’t have many friends—not because of their reputation, but because they don’t actively seek out building new relationships with people (They are emotionally unavailable and socially inept).

Disco is a stickshift disguised as a “Disco Stick.” They bear the same resemblance as Shifty, but with shiny makeup over their face and a different style of clothing.Disco (Shifty’s alter ego) is quite literally everything Shifty isn’t. Disco, despite being socially inept, is happy-go-lucky and loves their life (yet still a nervous wreck). They have no background in journalism or radio hosting whatsoever.Every detail of Disco’s life is fabricated, and they have a hard time juggling all the lies they’ve told others but try to make it work. Being Disco allows Shifty to openly express themself without hateful eyes watching. The adoring fans, attention, and money are almost like a drug to them.Disco is an act Shifty never hopes to have to drop.

Mike craves attention and recognition so deeply that he’s made his job as a news reporter his entire personality. He’s obsessed with the idea of fame and wants all eyes on him at all times.Mike believes every interaction is an opportunity to elevate himself and his career. Most relationships he has with others are strictly transactional.He’s very self-centered and charming. He knows just what to say to keep his image polished.Mike struggles to form genuine connections with people beyond his pursuit of fame. He does have a soft spot for Disco, though.

Bristles is the leader of a gang in Gildsborg and a drug dealer. He is well known around the city for being a criminal, always in and out of jail.Bristles has few friends besides the members of his gang. He keeps himself heavily guarded and refuses to let people in unless they’ve proven their loyalty to him multiple times.He is extremely street-smart and book-smart, having been nearly at the top of his class every year during high school. His intelligence isn’t very obvious to others, almost as if he’s hiding it.

Calvin may seem chill, laid-back, and easygoing, but in reality, he’s frustrated with his life. He’s upset with the world and his status in society, feeling as if his life is only someone else’s plaything... constantly being ruined over and over again.Cal dropped out of high school and currently works three different jobs (pizza delivery driver, barista, and grocery store cashier), which leaves him unavailable most of the day and with very little break time.Calvin is always available to listen to others’ struggles; it’s easy for him to sympathize with others, but hard for him to talk about his own issues, as he’s afraid of being a burden to others.

Gale is a very close friend of Calvin.His “soul” is kind and goofy.Gale commonly jokes to make Calvin feel better whenever he’s feeling down.Gale is the only one Calvin opens up to.

Pathos keeps to himself. Always.Most people think he’s just quiet, but there’s more going on behind his eyes than most realize. He’s smart, sharp, and cynical. He always sees the cracks in people and the lies they tell themselves.He’s a jokester when he wants to be, but it’s tense and biting humor...the kind that makes most laugh nervously because you’re not sure if he’s joking or not.Pathos has a close connection with Shifty. He cares in ways he refuses to admit, sometimes sacrificing his own comfort to simply be there for him.Pathos is private and he’s a quiet witness to the world’s suffering.
He's an observer who makes people feel everything without ever demanding attention himself.

Vivian is Mike’s news co-anchor.She’s a sweetheart and very conflict-avoidant. She constantly deals with Mike’s B.S. and doesn’t like him all that much.She was originally the main news anchor for Gildstar—always well put together and bubbly, the perfect fit for the job, you’d think.But her dream position was taken over by someone less competent.

Stern and serious.
He takes his job very seriously!

Milo used to be the lead singer for a well-known band. Their music still plays on the radio to this day, but his time in the spotlight is long gone.After an injury caused him to lose an eye, he was dropped from the record label for not fitting their aesthetic.He now lives off a small amount of revenue from the band. He rarely leaves the house and is a stay-at-home parent, residing with his ex-wife, Rachel, and their 7-year-old daughter Birdie.

Rachel is a detective for Gildsborg.She’s been in the police force for many years and wants to be known as one of the best detectives out there, but she always seems to be left in Shifty’s shadow.Rachel always puts her family first. She has a 7-year-old daughter, whom she loves to the moon and back. Rachel didn’t grow up in a two-parent household, so she stayed with Milo to ensure Birdie could have that experience.She resents Milo for “ruining his career,” originally believing they would both be set for life and live out their dreams of luxury. Unfortunately, reality hit, and there was nothing either of them could do about it.

Gretel is a member of Bristles’ gang.She is cunning and competitive. Bristles often sends her out to make deals outside of their normal area, as she is tough and can defend herself much better than anyone else in the group.Gretel is the only one in the gang who can legitimately use a gun.She considers herself a tomboy and loves to mix masculine and feminine fashion.

Mac is the youngest member of Bristles' gang and the newest. They are extremely timid and very expressive.After being bullied for years on end in school, Mac wanted to find a way to prove they are not easy to push around.They were invited to Bristles' gang by Gretel.

Pablo is an audio engineer for Gildstar.He can easily be described as a “Bro.” Brotherhood and loyalty to his peers are everything to him. He’s always thinking of others and looking for ways to help. In the studio, he’s the person everyone goes to when they need to vent.Because of this, Pablo knows a lot about everyone ... but he doesn’t judge.There is one exception: Mike. Pablo is aware of what Mike is up to, even if he doesn’t know the full picture, and he strongly dislikes him. Despite knowing so much, Pablo is exceptionally good at keeping secrets.Pablo’s closest friend is Steve. They met in college and have been inseparable ever since. Pablo is always looking out for Steve, reminding him of things and keeping him on track, since Steve tends to be forgetful and easily distracted.

Steve is a nerd for everything music and audio related.He loves rock music and producing, but doesnt want to persue music as a career.

Minnie is easygoing. She treats her employees like friends and is very respectful to them.She looks up to her employees very much, it was her dream to do radio but she decided that she likes managment roles better than being front and center all the time.

Plot one of D&GFE follows the main character of the series, Shifty, an investigator for the city of Gildsborg who is… not very good at his job.He’s broke, burnt out, and barely holding things together. After months of holding onto a high-profile murder case (and not really making any progress in it due to his laziness) things finally come crumbling down.Shifty loses his job, can’t make money for his already overdue rent, and is kind of stuck in life with no clear direction. While scrambling for work, he finds out about a recent opening at a local radio station and decides to audition, even though it’s completely outside his comfort zone.Shifty is convinced that his real self is too boring and awkward to ever succeed in something like radio, so he creates a whole new persona called Disco who's flashy, confident, charming, and everything he isn’t- except for the awkward part.Surprisingly, they get the job, and Disco becomes the version of himself he uses at the station and in public, while Shifty keeps their real life separate.At the radio station, "Disco" meets Mike, a news anchor who lives off attention and fame. Mike is constantly chasing higher ratings and bigger connections, and he pulls Disco into that world with him. As "Disco" learns how to navigate life in the spotlight and behind the scenes world of celebrities... Shifty has to juggle two lives, one that feels empty and foreboding, and one that feels exciting, addictive, but way harder to control.The plot focuses on identity, performance, greed, and what happens when pretending to be someone else starts to feel easier than being yourself.

The second plot of D&GFE is about the Brush bros, Calvin and Bristles.Calvin is a 17 year old high school dropout working three jobs just to keep a roof over their heads after the brothers were kicked out by their mother, Candace. He pays the rent, buys the food, and holds everything together while trying not to completely lose it himself. He’s angry, exhausted, and constantly on edge, but all he really wants is a normal life and some kind of semblance of peace he never seems to get.Bristles is his older brother and the main reason things are so bad. He’s a gang leader and a drug dealer who lives in the same apartment but does absolutely nothing to help. No rent, no support, hell, not even a single chore. He treats Calvin like it’s his job to clean up the mess, and that resentment has been building for years.Home doesn’t feel safe, it feels awfully suffocating.

Calvin begins looking for any way to cope. Anything that makes the days quieter and the nights easier to get through. Then Gale appears. Gale feels comforting. Familiar. Like someone who actually understands what Calvin is going through and isn’t asking him to "just be stronger" for once.But the more Calvin leans on Gale, the harder it becomes to tell what’s helping and what’s hurting. Gale is always there.This plot talks about abuse, mental health, dependency, and the slow, terrifying, and achy feeling of losing control when the thing keeping you together might also be tearing you apart.

D&GFE takes place during August 1974 in Gildsborg, Maytin.Maytin is a populous city full of rich history in arts, music and film.With the number of dreamers moving to Gildsborg to chase a better life or get picked up in their respective industry, not everyone can make it.Most citizens are stuck working in office jobs, retail, or have to hustle to make a living.Like any city with a high population, there are areas of poverty that are under the shadow of the glorious and tall downtown buildings. With high demand for jobs and housing, people who cannot keep up get left behind... and people will do anything to survive.The outskirts of the Gildsborg are where the celebrities, business owners, and trust fund babies reside. Most wealth is from old money.The outliers in these communities are the celebrities. The chances of making it big in Gildsborg as a writer, singer/songwriter, actor, or personality are extremely low, so if you make it, you are either extremely lucky or the best of the best.

Gildstar is a broadcasting center in downtown Gildsborg. Originally opened and founded on Sep 10th 1952 by Reagan Soprano, now owned by her daughter Minnie Soprano-Nadel.The huge building holds many rooms/studios for different television shows or radio broadcasts. Back in the 60's, Gildstar held many residencies but now only has three, Gildstar Radio, GBTV, and Gildstar News. Occasionally, empty studios are rented out to companies and college students for filming short term.The crew of GBTV, GS NEWS, and GS Radio is tight-knit. Working for Gildstar employees get top-tier pay; there are rarely vacancies due to this.

Heyo! Just wanted to share a small clip from episode one of the twooo most popular characters I guess hahahahahahahaha .... ha.... Check it out! This scene is by TEETHFEAST.

Showed a lot more of this scene in a random vc in the D&GFE server... this was a while ago but I'm sure everyone there remembers it lol... cant wait to share this in full! TEETHFEAST is a great animator and I was very impressed by this scene :-)You can ask any of my close friends at the time- I couldnt stop watching it and showing it in crew VCs and freaking out.

Production has been slow due to lack of funds available for use from my shop to pay the crew. (small businesses in the U.S have had a very very hard year ;( )Expect the episode hopefully sometime next year. No promises tho. But.... YAY!-If you wish to make your own poses and animations, the D&GFE rigs are now avaliable to the public!The rules are simple:
- Whenever you use these rigs for animation, make sure to link the website or the show!
- Don't make anything weird with them...

Animation is 80% complete. There are only 4 scenes left in the whole episode! So exciting!!!
Animation revision has started and Braden is doing a good job with those! ... Episode one will be around 18-20 minutes!FINALIZATION
I am working on finalization scene by scene... huge learning curve for me but I am having fun.
We are recoloring assets based on the color key by the amazing EGGU, her visual dev skills have DAGFE looking like no other object show before :O
Props and backgrounds are still being worked on... we are right on track... Can't wait to see everything put togetherMUSIC
Music production for the episode has started. Music for the episode is around 45% complete. if you know someone who makes music you can have them audition!
